History of the School

Heathcote Primary School was established in September 2017. It's first headteacher was Mrs Lara Jeffries who grew the school from it's first Reception class rapidly and ensured it was firmly embedded in the community. Mrs Jeffries moved to Cornwall in August 2019.
Heathcote is built on farmland and so a badger logo was developed to represent the school's roots in the surrounding countryside.
In September 2019 Mrs Gill Humphriss took over leadership as Executive Head Teacher and a Deputy Head Mrs Kim Abernethy was also appointed. The school now had 2 Reception classes, a Year One, Year Two, Year Three and Year Four. Building work began on the second phase of building for another 8 classrooms during the year of 2019/20. There were 165 pupils in the school at the start of the academic year. By the end of the year 176 pupils were in the school.
