Remote Learning Provision at Heathcote Primary School
In line with Department for Education (DfE) guidance, our school is committed to ensuring continuity of education for pupils during periods of authorised absence where remote learning is appropriate.
These tasks may include:
- Worksheets
- Open-ended activities
- Direction to activities on online platforms
- Links to publicly available resources such as Oak National Academy
The school will contact you to discuss your child’s access to remote learning and outline expectations. Where needed, we will provide the necessary equipment to support learning from home, and printed work packs can be arranged upon request for collection.
The school will maintain contact throughout the period of absence to monitor progress and offer support. The frequency of contact will depend on the duration of the absence.
Please note:
- For individual absences, live or recorded teaching will not be provided.
- In the event of a wider disruption (e.g. a national pandemic), remote learning arrangements will be communicated clearly and promptly to all parents and carers.
- If a whole class or a significant portion of a class is absent, live or recorded teaching may be offered as appropriate.
Please note: Remote learning will not be provided for pupils whose absence is unauthorised. This includes absences not approved by the school or those that do not meet the criteria for remote provision under current DfE guidance.
We encourage all families to work in partnership with us to ensure attendance remains high and learning continues uninterrupted.
